Indigenous Animal Health and Wellbeing Gathering
Four Winds Connections is partnering with Natives in VetMed and White Earth Nation community leaders to present the second annual Indigenous Animal Health and Wellbeing Gathering. Hosted by White Earth Nation in White Earth, Minnesota, the event will be held from Sept. 25 to 28, 2025. Last year’s Gathering brought together animal and human health professionals from 10 tribal nations and communities and focused on relationship building, knowledge sharing, deep listening and support. This year, we'll continue the conversation about making animal care available and sustainable in Indigenous communities.
Venue: White Earth Community Center, White Earth
Accommodations: Shooting Star Casino, Mahnomen
Sept. 25 is reserved for travel, Sept. 26 and 27 for conference activities, and Sept. 28 for a community animal wellness clinic. Lodging and food are covered by the Indigenous Animal Health and Wellbeing Gathering planning committee; and airfare, car rental and mileage will be reimbursed up to $1,000 per attendee.
